Expert clinical pharmacy capacity, without the recruitment
Remote clinical pharmacist services give GP practices and PCNs expert clinical capacity without the cost, delay or risk of recruitment. Recruiting and retaining clinical pharmacists is one of the hardest challenges facing both individual practices and Primary Care Networks: vacancies leave funding unused, supervision stretches existing teams, and patient backlogs grow.
Agentis Healthcare removes that burden. Our pharmacists and pharmacy technicians integrate directly into your clinical systems, work to your protocols, and become an extension of your team, whether you are a single practice or a whole network.
Formerly the Ashtons Virtual Hub, we have supported practices and PCNs across England for years, with a team of more than 45 clinical pharmacists. None of our pharmacists are locums; every clinician is permanently employed by us, which means continuity for your patients and consistency for your practice.

What our remote clinical pharmacist services deliver
Our team supports the full breadth of primary care medicines management and clinical workflow:
Structured Medication Reviews (SMRs) for high-priority and complex patient cohorts
Medicines reconciliation following hospital discharge
Long-term condition management across CVD, COPD, CKD, diabetes and hypertension
Prescription and repeat medication management
Clinical document and workflow processing
Deprescribing, including opioids and high-risk medicines
QOF and IIF contract indicator support
Medicines management reporting and audits
Every service is scoped individually with your practice or PCN, so you draw only on the support you need.
How remote delivery works
Our clinicians work securely within your existing systems, including EMIS, SystmOne, Docman and Accurx, so there is no new software to learn and no physical estate required. Each pharmacist is allocated to a specific practice or group of practices, attends your meetings, and follows your local care pathways exactly as an on-site colleague would.
Because we manage rota planning, supervision, cover and performance monitoring, you get reliable capacity with full clinical governance and no management overhead.

Flexible funding, including ARRS
Practices and PCNs engage our service through a range of contract and funding arrangements. There is no single route in: an individual practice can fund the service directly from its own budget, while PCNs can draw on their ARRS allocation. Our roles are ARRS-aligned and all of our pharmacists have completed or are on the CPPE pathway, ensuring the service is ARRS eligible where networks choose to use it.
Whichever route suits you, the service scales to your needs and you only pay for the support you use.
The utilisation of ARRS funding for services provided by Agentis is determined by local procurement arrangements and the decision-making processes of practices and PCNs. Agentis has no ability to influence or bypass these statutory or locally governed processes.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be part of a PCN to use the service?
No. We work with individual GP practices as well as PCNs and federations. A single practice can engage and fund the service directly.
Do I have to use ARRS funding to pay for it?
No. ARRS is one option for PCNs, but the service is equally available to practices funding it directly from their own budget. Funding arrangements are scoped to suit you.
Which clinical systems do you work in?
Our clinicians work securely within your existing systems, including EMIS, SystmOne, Docman and Accurx. No new software is required.
